Levine, who was also a judge on The Voice, has won several awards including three Grammy Awards, two Billboard Music Awards, two American Music Awards, an MTV Video Music Award and a World Music Award.

His rendition of Prince’s “Purple Rain” at Howard Stern’s 2014 Birthday bash on Sirius XM was simply amazing. Even the birthday boy, jumped up out of his seat and clapped, “wow,” when it was done.

While Levine is known for his impressive vocals, he wailed on the guitar throughout the six-minute performance. It’s one of the reasons the performance was so impressive.

Levine is among many performers who have covered the song, which include Bruce Springsteen and Pearl Jam. However, Levine’s version is known as one of the best.

“Purple Rain” appeared as the title track on Prince and The Revolution’s 1984 album of the same name, which was the soundtrack for a film of the same name.

“Purple Rain” is beloved by many and blends rock, R&B, gospel, and orchestral music. It has sold more than one million copies in the U.S.
