Emma Watson is well known for her role as the UN Women Goodwill Ambassador, including her work on the He For She campaign, which encourages people of all genders to join in the fight for equal opportunities. Oh, and let’s not forget that she does all that on top of her day job as one of the world’s best paid actresses.
Aside from her UN and acting work, Watson also spends her free time leaving books on underground trains around the world. In the past she’s left books on the New York City Subway and the London Underground, complete with handwritten notes explaining that the books should be passed on after they’ve been read.
In aid of International Women’s Day, which took place yesterday, Watson’s been up to her old tricks by distributing copies of Alice Walker’s The Color Purple, a novel that she’s been promoting as part of her feminist book club.
