Jon Gosselin is taking his ex-wife Kate to court to gain joint custody of their eight kids.
The 39-year-old has asked a judge to grant him joint custody of 16-year-old twins Cara and Mady and 12-year-old sextuplets Aaden, Alexis, Collin, Hannah, Joel and Leah, InTouch reported.
“So there will be a trial as soon as possible,” an insider told the magazine.
“The judge ordered it. Jon’s been waiting for this for a very long time.”
The source added: “The judge is ordering psychological evaluations of all eight kids and for both Kate and Jon before heading to trial.
“Jon hopes the judge will meet with all the kids privately in his chambers, without Kate, to find out [the truth] and what they really want.”
The dad-of-eight is also demanding to know where the center that Kate sent their special needs son Colin to is, according to the source.
He has not believed to have seen the boy for two years and earlier this month claimed his former wife was refusing to tell him where he was.
“No one knows where he is,” Jon told Entertainment Tonight. “I have an idea where he is but I don’t really know where he is.”
He added: “Kate says that Collin is in a special school for special needs kids with behavioral problems.”
Jon and Kate divorced in 2009 and Kate was granted full custody, while Jon was given visitation.
The pair have been battling over custody arrangements ever since.
The couple first appeared on screen in 2007 in the reality show Jon & Kate Plus 8.
The show was canceled after their divorce but returned as Kate Plus 8 on TLC in 2009 – following Kate’s life as a single mom.
