CLEVELAND, Ohio — How is LeBron James different from other NBA superstars?
“He’s unique for a couple of reasons,” Brian Windhorst said, and in this edition of Takes By The Lake, the NBA reporter who has chronicled James from the start will tell you why.
Windhorst, the former Cavs reporter for the Plain Dealer who has been at ESPN for nearly seven years, has a book coming out in April, co-written with ESPN.com reporter Dave McMenamin, called “Return of the King: LeBron James, the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Greatest Comeback in NBA History.”
In episode 20 of our twice-a-week cleveland sports podcast, I talked with Windhorst about writing and reporting that book, how long he thinks James will play in the NBA and what he believes James will do when he’s done playing.
“I don’t care if LeBron doesn’t play in another game,” Windhorst said. “He will have satisfied the highest expectation that people had.”
Brian also talked about what he likes best about covering the NBA and we touched on how he follows Ohio State football – be reading cleveland.com, of course.
Brian was a great guest, and I’ve read the new book, and he and Dave take you inside the ins-and-outs of James’ return to Cleveland. Give the book a look, and give this a listen.
