By now, everyone knows the story. Madeleine McCann, aged three, disappeared from a holiday apartment in Portugal’s Praia da Luz in May 2007 while her parents were dining with a group of friends at a nearby restaurant.
The case went on to be the most heavily-reported missing person case in history, and neither her parents nor the police have given up hope of one day finding Madeleine. Today, she would be nearly 14 years old.
Operation Grange, the UK’s own investigation into the disappearance has received £11.1 million in funding since it was launched in May 2011. It’s just been announced that the operation has received £85,000 in extra funding in order to follow one last line of enquiry.
