Tinder is used by many as a tool for meeting a prospective partner, ostensibly at least. In a world of over six billion people, it can be hard to find someone you consider the perfect match, and for them to feel the same way. Consequently, swiping right and left on Tinder based on the level of wit in the biography section, and a quick, five second, entirely superficial judge of the person you have been presented with can feel oddly reassuring.
In fact, I’m sure Theresa May sometimes sits inside Number 10 Downing Street after a long hard day running the country and wishes that negotiating Britain’s exit from the European Union could be expedited in much the same way as Tinder does with match-making.
What if, she might muse, we could simply set up a profile for the country, along with some appealing photographs, and let the internet do the rest?
We’d have to ‘super-like’ the United States, of course, because of our special relationship. OK, maybe I’m thinking too deeply into the whole idea now.
