When it comes to technology, and phones in particular, there’s no shortage of fear-mongering. From cancer-inducing radiation, to concerns that smart phones are ruining our relationships in the real world, you could probably find tonnes of reasons why people think you should be concerned about your phone use.
However, one Twitter user raised a very important point in a thread posted on her account. Using the handle @afronomics, the college student described her experience of trying to locate the owner of a phone left behind in a public bathroom on campus.
Simple enough, right? Even though she had tried to track the person down by asking Siri a few questions, a friend called and the owner was able to get her phone. Problem solved. However, the lady who found the phone realised something important.
That would definitely concern anyone, especially since many of us expect our details to be safe from roving eyes when our phones are locked.
