  1. Those are all great choices, but a film that was omitted and is better than almost any of them is "Dead of Night," in which an architect travels to a country manor he's supposedly going to reconstruct. This was released in 1946, but even today it packs a powerful wallop. Highly recommended. (With Michael Redgrave and Mervyn Johns.)

  2. Black Swan was cringeworthy alright, watching that film and trying to take it seriously was a fucking horror in of itself, that movie sucked ass and does not deserve to be on the list. Shutter Island is probably the best psychological horror/mystery suspense film ever made and Psycho (1960) should be on that list as well.
